EDEN City, Maheshtala South Kolkata’s largest housing project at Maheshtala was launched on Friday by EDEN Real Estates, a SPV between Kolkata-based infrastructure developer Eden City Group and UK-based REIT Asset Management - the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) partner. Eden City, Maheshtala is a Public Private Partnership project in association with Maheshtala Municipality.
The Project at Maheshtala aims at bringing positive socio-economic changes to the entire neighbourhood. “We will work together with Mahestala Municipality to uplift the infrastructure of the town,” said Mr. Sachchidanand Rai, Managing Director of Eden.
EDEN City, Maheshtala is spread over 22 acres, with 2188 Flats over G+7 and G+15 Towers with all modern facilities. It is currently the largest housing project in South Kolkata, and is located 23 minutes from Victoria Memorial and 800 meters from Nungi Railway Station.
The building plans have already been sanctioned and the project has commenced. Already 200 families have booked their apartments in Eden City, Maheshtala during the pre-launch stage.
Apart from the residential space, a Centre for Science, Sports and Culture will be built for the benefit of the entire locality. The Centre will have an auditorium, a library, indoor sports and allied facilities. “This project is in line with REIT’s objective in India of developing high quality affordable accommodation, while participating in the overall development of the community,” said Mr. Alex Hayim, Director, REIT India.
Eden Real Estates has proposed a few other initiatives to create better infrastructure facilities which will make Maheshtala a preferred destination. All these proposals are under active consideration by the Government.
